No help on the pick up stitches, but it looks beautiful!

Hmm.. I haven't knit this yet myself, but I think the general rule is to pick up 2 stitches for every 3 rows when you are working with something at a bulkier gauge like this. I guess you'd just have to experiment and see how it looks.

This picture really showed off the color a lot better. It looks very pretty.

About the picking up stitches - I have done that (I could not resist my very nice yarn) I am making one for my 4 year old daughter and off course had to do some addjustments. I am knitting on 5 mm needles and get a different gauge that fits her size. But I did try it on during the process and ended up shortening the back, too. When picking up for the front I did not get as many stitches as in the pattern. That gave me a problem with the pattern (k2tog, YO). So insted of 4 repeats I have 3, because I don't think it will look good having a YO at the very beginning and end of the front-wrap. I will try to post a picture of it later!

Sorry I can't give you any advice Robin. But I just wanted to tell you that those colors are *gorgeous*!! It will look great on you when you finish. Good luck!!
