Short Sleeve Cardi Finished!
I just joined the knit along but I already have one project finished. I started the Short Sleeved Cardigan with Ribbing about a month ago mostly because it fit the gauge of some Cotton-Tots yarn I've had in my stash for a few years.
I hadn't made a top-down raglan before so it was fun to try out. I added some short rows to the bust area and increased the length. The hardest part in reading the pattern for me was the horizontal ribbing. I figured out the design called for 3 rows reverse stockinette stitch, 2 rows st st and three more rows rev
st st.
Overall I'm pretty happy with the result. Next, I'm planning to make the Crisp Rectangle Top with some blue yarn I bought.
Happy knitting! Beth

Beth, looking good! I wonder if you could talk a little bit about adding short row shaping in a cardi. I understand using short rows on a pulli, but I can't wrap my mind around doing it on on two separate front pieces, unless it makes two little "pouches" instead of the usual one. Any advice?

That is the cutest thing I've seen. Love the two colors. Very summery!

Thank you for the compliments!
Karma, I did two sets of short rows, one for each side. I had never done it like this before but wanted more room in the bust. I started the short rows near the armpit. When I got to the end of a row I just turned the fabric and did not do a second wrap. There are more rows at the front edges but it works. Let me know if you have more questions. I'd love to help!

beautiful work, can you please tell me how you did the short row on the bust of the cardigan...I've done it on a regular sweater, but not a cardigan so need some guidance. thankyou

Hi Stephanie,
I improvised on the short rows. I only did the "turn and wrap" at the underarm and just turned normally at the center front. So, there are more rows at the center front than at the side.
