DSL Done!

DSL Tank from Fitted Knits
Originally uploaded by No Knit Sherlock!

Here's DSL all finished up. I had added buttons and then removed them, because I like the look of the tank better w/out them. **Keep in mind this top is super stretchy! I probably could have gone down another size and been fine.

First Fitted Knit!

Image003_2This is my first Fitted Knit, and I love it! (can't wait to make more :-))
I had every intention of making this cropped cardi, as per pattern, but after having this dyelot issue, I didn't have enough yarn to finish the sleeves! ... but y' know, sometimes it's good to mess up, because after my initial gggrrrrrrrrr!!!, I think that I'll get a lot more wear out of this with the sleeves the way they are (it'll be great to wear inside air-conned buildings when the summer comes around!)
Linda :-D

Uh-oh.

Last night, out of nowhere I cast on for the Cozy V-Neck Pullover with Lamb's Pride Worsted in a beautiful cobalt blue. Good grief!                    probably more soon...Julia.

Progress on TTV

Ttv_3 Well, I had a nice post all done up, and I lost it somehow.  I don't feel like writing it all over again, so here's what I've done so far with my TTV.  It's from Debbie Bliss Cathay, nice soft all cotton yarn.  I have some more of this in a really pretty silvery gray, I might just make another one in that color, if I think I have enough yarn.  Anyway, back to knitting.

U-Neck Vest completed!

I knit it up in just six days with Cascade 220 in a heathered teal color. I have a few photos of it on my flickr account, but for some reason I just can't get the photo to rotate properly in typepad. I also wrote it up a little on my blog. I couldn't even contain my excitement for my next project (the Puff-Sleeved Feminine Cardigan) long enough to weave in the ends on the Back to School Vest. I'm sure I'll get around to it sooner or later...

In the meantime, here's a progress shot of my cardi in some absolutely luscious Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light. I've actually gotten further since this picture was taken. I'm now about an hour's work from finishing the yoke!

Drop Stitch Tank: A satisfying knit

Done! I was holding my breath that 5 skeins of Pima Tencel would be enough for the size 28" (second size), but with a few modifications, I made it barely. A few notes: I knit in the round, and left out all the stitches outside the repeats to make the pattern work out correctly in the round. I used a size 6 needle, but went down to a 5 for the middle 5 inches or so. An easy way to add a little shaping. When I got to the front divide, I moved the stitch markers one stitch to the left (between two purl stitches.) That made the center divide and both armhole divides between purl stitches. I knit any stitch connected to a drop through the back loop. I used a three needle bind off at the shoulders. finally since the armhole edges are finished edges, I made a neater selvedge by slipping purlwise the first stitch of every row and knitting the last stitch. The armhole edge made a nice, smooth chain. When I did the neck edging, I went down to a size 4 needle, which pulled the front in a little and prevented bagging. I really like the result!Drop_stitch1

TTV Progress

So I'm mostly done with this top.  I've got 5.5 inches of ribbing done at the bottom and need at least another 5.5 to get it long enough to be a comfortable length for me.  Maybe even another inch after that.  But it fits perfect!  I should finish soon, but I had to take a break from all that ribbing!Dsc01976 Dsc01984

Off the needles!

All Done!  Yea!!!!  It was getting too hot to have a pile of wool in my lap ;)  I used 3 balls of Cascade 220 on sBack2schoolvest_052ize 7 needles, 5's for for the neck & arm ribbing.  Love the fit and I hope to get more use out of it this winter.  Until then, she will be room mates with Thermal.

Happy knitting!
