Puffy Progress: The Bust Is A Bust

I am currently working on my second Fitted Knit, the Puff-Sleeved Feminine Cardigan, which I started knitting shortly after finishing the Two-Tone Shrug.  I am using the recommended yarn, Knit Picks Merino Style, because I happened to have 8 balls of the Mint color hiding in my stash.  That and the fact that I really liked the pattern made this a must-knit for me!

So far, I love this project.  The yarn is wonderful to work with and the color really pops.  I'm just over halfway done, having divided the sleeves a few inches ago.  Everything seemed to be on track until I tried it on tonight to find that the cardigan is too big.  Not monstrously so, but there is enough extra room in the bust area for me to wear another sweater under this one.  Wonderful.

At least I caught it early, so I will only have to rip out about 3" to get back to where I divided for the sleeves.  From there, I figured it should be fairly straightforward to start re-knitting the cardigan in a smaller size.  I hate to frog, but if it gets me a sweater that I like to wear, it will be worth it.

I just love topdown. Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing for pieced sweaters but this is the only method where I can catch the sizing problems while they're fixable. The green is lovely on you.

Ooh! I love the color. I hate frogging, too, but it will be worth it in the end.

I just ordered some green yarn for this same sweater. I agree it is more flattering in a more fitted style. I hope the frogging isn't too painful!
