Does the size come out right?

Hi, I'm happy to join!  My question pertains to the boatneck bluebell sweater, which I am knitting using the recommended yarn, Cascasde 220, but in a heather (colour 9451).  I am almost done the body and soon to start the sleeves.  I am making the 36.5" bust size, and successfully got gauge on on the US8 (5mm) needles.  Instead of the 18.25" shown in the illustration for the bust, I am getting 16"!  I am scared that it'll be too small.  For those of you who have knitted it, did you note, after you were done, that it actually comes out smaller than expected?  Hopefully it'll stretch fine and still fit snug...

Hmm I knit the size medium. I used cotton ease, but I got gauge also. I don't remember the measurements, but mine fits fine. Rember you can always put it on scrap yarn and try it on to see if you like the fit and adjust.

hello,
i got the same gauge swatch without using the same yarn (i am in france and bye yarn from various LYS).
i did get a BIGGER size than expected. i am a bust 34 and knit the bust 33, so it's bigger but it's good, i will post a photo as soon as chris gives me back my cam, haha.

I knit the size 36.5 for this sweater, (also in Cascade 220 Heathers)and I had the same concerns, especially about the length of the sleeves. It grew quite a bit after blocking, however, and turned out great. good luck!
