U-Neck Vest in Malabrigo

Thought you'd like to see this vest in Malabrigo - it turned out really well for this project!  For some reason the picture inserty thingy isn't working well tonight, so here's a link to the post in my blog.  I think you'll find the click worth while!

white "blue-shirt" woman wearing brown "blue bell"

Bluebells_3

i signed my new job contract today wearing this new sweater. i kept the look for the photo. i like how it looks great with a shirt underneath, who'd have thought? not i ...

in any case, i did not make any changes to the neck, it all fixed itself after i steamed the neck.

what i did for when i wear it on the skin is i sewed on cotton bands with "boutons pression" to hold my bra strings in place, hidden under the sweater.

i used the french self-striping yarn in marron. it was a fast and easy knit, the yarn was lovely to knit with.

all in all i am amazed at this "blue-bell", i had fears that the sleeves would get in the way although they look great in the book but the width is just perfect. i kept the three original bumping tiers at the bottom BECAUSE they will hide any eventual bulges from my bottoms like jean zippers, skirt pockets, etc.

thank you stephanie for a great design, i learned how to make darts with this one without doing the maths myself and it was a pleasure to just apply instead of designing for once, hehe.

Instructions driving me nuts

I've been looking for a while for someone else who's had this question about the top, but if she's out there, I can't find her.

On page 108 before separating sleeves from the body it says to knit one round. The next round says "knit front sts". That means 2 knit rows consecutively; won't that mess up the garter stitch sections of the front?

I'm desperate for an answer! Did any of you notice a difference if you followed this instruction? Am I overthinking it?

Does the size come out right?

Hi, I'm happy to join!  My question pertains to the boatneck bluebell sweater, which I am knitting using the recommended yarn, Cascasde 220, but in a heather (colour 9451).  I am almost done the body and soon to start the sleeves.  I am making the 36.5" bust size, and successfully got gauge on on the US8 (5mm) needles.  Instead of the 18.25" shown in the illustration for the bust, I am getting 16"!  I am scared that it'll be too small.  For those of you who have knitted it, did you note, after you were done, that it actually comes out smaller than expected?  Hopefully it'll stretch fine and still fit snug...
