Fitted Knits Classes at Littleton, Colorado LYS

A Knitted Peace in Littleton, Colorado is offering two classes on three fitted knits sweaters this spring.

Fitted Knits Sweaters

Choose from two projects: Boat Neck Bluebell or Fitted V Neck T (which can also be worked with long sleeves). Both are knit from the top down with raglan shaping and loads of details that are fun to work and add great style and fit. Instructor Karen Gress will guide you to a beautifully finished project that fits. Meets Wednesdays, Feb. 6 and 20, March 12, noon to 2 pm. $50.

Airy Wraparound

A quick project on big needles, this sweater features a simple lace pattern in lightweight mohair. Instructor Molly Christopher will help you do simple pattern modifications to make the sweater your own. Meets Wednesdays, Mar. 12 and 26, April 26 ,-8 pm. $50

These sound like fun classes for anyone in the local area so I thought I'd pass the info along!

Hi everyone! just quickly thought i'd mention a couple of things that might be of interest....

• There is a new Ravelry group for Fitted Knits. Either the old KAL group got moved over, or as seems more likely, someone got bored of waiting and set up another one :) Come and say hello! i'm rubbishknitter
• I have enough yarn left over from my Elizabeth Bennet cardigan to make another one, so i've put it on ebay. It's the recommended Cascade Cloud 9, in a nice cheerful yellow colour, and will probably go for a bargain price!

Contest Update

So, we got $15 of additional donations since I last posted, bringing our total to $53.33. I am going to make the prize a $40 gift certificate again, and carry over the remainder to the next drawing.

The winner will get to choose from a $40 gift certificate from Elann.com, Kpixie.com or Amazon.com. We did WEBS last time as a choice but it turns out that they don't do email gift certificates, and they charge shipping to mail the physical certificate out to the winner. So we can save our money for actual prizes, not stupid stuff like shipping, right?

I will do the drawing one week from tomorrow, so Friday, 10/12. That should give everyone enough time to get their comments in on the other post regarding which Fitted Knits were completed between 7/1 - 9/30. Remember, you get one entry for each Fitted Knit you completed during that time frame, so be sure you don't forget any!

Are we still going strong? I know I am. I want to cast on for the Back to School Vest (have the Cascade 220 in light green heather), another Carie Cropped Cardigan (this time in a aqua Colinette Point 5 colorway that I frogged from another project), the split-neckline cap sleeve T (bought the recommended yarns in pink), and eventually the dress and maybe even the suit. Basically everything in the book!

I am so excited about the success of this KAL. We have 208 members now and are getting over 500 hits a day on the site! I can't wait til Stefanie's new book comes out, as I'll definitely host a KAL for that as well. Yay! You guys are great!

Contest Entries for 7/1-9/30 FOs

Hi everyone,

Sorry I am a few days late with this. Please post a comment in reply to this post listing out the FOs you completed between 7/1/07 - 9/30/07 for entry in the contest drawing. I discovered that I did not actually have the Tip Jar configured on the other site (Knitting Lingerie Style) so the entire balance belongs to this group. I have gotten some additional contributions in the past week so I need to come up with a new tally, and determine whether we should save some of the money for the next prize drawing (for 10/1-12/31 FOs), give away the money now to one person, or split it up and give away two prizes.  If you have thoughts about any of these ideas, please comment on this post as well.

9/30 Prize Drawing

Hi everyone,

We are approaching September 30 soon, and I plan on having another prize drawing to give away the remaining funds we have collected through the Tip Jar. As before (check other Admin posts for history if you're new to the group) you will get one prize drawing entry for each FO completed between July 1 and September 30.

However, I need your help with something. Typepad recently discontinued their "Earnings" feature which would provide detail of Tip Jar donations and affiliate (ad) earnings, and deposited the balance of $38.33 to my PayPal account last month upon discontinuance. What I didn't realize until now is that they wiped out the history of donations when they did this, so I don't know which donations were made to the Fitted Knits group and which were made to the Knitting Lingerie Style group. If you donated sometime from July forward, could you let me know how much and which group you contributed to either by email (rm090195 at gmail dot com) or comment to this post? Also, if anyone would like to donate, you can still use the Tip Jar but please be sure to indicate which KAL you're donating to.

Thanks! Once I have this information I can determine how much of the $38.33 belongs to each KAL. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I didn't realize that Typepad was going to wipe out the history.

I actually think I will be going back to the Spicy Fitted Tee soon to finish it and I just got yarn for the Back To School Vest, so I'll be more "present" around here again soon.

Ravelry Group

Hi all -

For those of you that are on Ravelry - and I apologize to those of you who are not *yet* - I have been waiting for "them" to move over the KAL page (which I know many of you joined on there) to the new "groups". There was some note about the KALs being moved over, awhile back, so I didn't think I needed to do anything. Does anyone know if I still need to wait, or what I'd have to do to move everything over? I'm thinking this is beyond my capabilities, so if anyone knows how to do this or is "in" with Casey and Jess over there, you should totally feel free to do this if you know how.

Next Project

I was thinking about what my next project is going to be from the book, and I decided on the Spicy Fitted V-Neck Tee. I'm going to use Rowan Cotton Tape in "bleached" (pure white) from my stash. I got gauge this morning on the first try with size 10.5 bamboo needles, so I'm taking that as a sign that I should cast on for it today! I can fit a few more summer knits in before it gets cold....

Putting on my administrator hat, we should all start thinking about the next prize giveaway - the drawing will be for knits completed in the "third quarter" - July 1 to September 30. If you haven't contributed yet to the Tip Jar in the right hand sidebar, consider doing so in the next month before we do the drawing. Any thoughts about whether we should keep the prize the same as the first drawing and/or any new ideas for prizes would be appreciated. Thanks!!
