Finally Done!!!!

I'm soo done with this. It took forever but it is done. I used Bernat Satin in Sultana Raisin and I did ktb's instead of yo's for the sleeves. I think it looks much neater that way.  CablesImg00078_2i apoloigize for the crappy pictures. My cellphone was acting funny. Img00075

First Post, and I'm halfway done!

Hello Fitted Knits Along!  I found this Along when I was searching for errata for my first project out of Fitted Knits. Here's how it's going:Pink

I'm making the Airy Wrap Around Lace Sweater, or as I call it, my Big Pink Floaty Thing. I'm having a lot of fun with it, it's gone really fast. I've picked up for the first side of the front since I took this picture. I'm planning on making a opening on the left side of the sweater to make the whole wrapping part lay nicer, and would love some opinions on how this would effect the piece from those of you who have already made one. I don't want to take up a lot of space with my first post, so for a more complete synopsis of this project you can check out this post on my blog. See y'all soon!

Plymouth Softer

Hi, just an FYI. DiscountYarnSale.com has the Plymouht Softer for $34.42 for a bag of 10 skiens. There's no minimum required amount and the shipping is cheaper than Smiley's online.  I was looking online for this yarn and was totally blown away when I saw that Smiley's had it for $2.99 but you had to over $40 online and the flat rate for shipping is $12.95.  I also could go to the store in Woodhaven, NY but they had it there for $3.99 a skien and the train ride seems to take forever and I have a 3yr old who cannot stay put for the life of her.  I think I'll go with discountyarnsale.com instead.

Finished No.2

And here is my lacy wrap!Picture_011_2

This took a while. I knitted up the sleeves, back and one front tie really quick, then with six repeats left on the last tie I gave up for about a month! I recently finished it I also really like this one alot although I should have heeded other peoples warnings and maybe made the ties a bit shorter but hey at least it will still fit if I ever get pregnant. I used Rowan kidsilk in damson and only used three balls so didn't cost thst much to make as I bought them cheap through ebay anyway.

Hello to everyone.

Hi. I'm going to join you gals with this KAL. I'm thinking of doing several patterns, one of which is the Airy Wrap Around. I have ask a stupid question regarding this pattern. Where in the pattern does the wrap start? I don't see where wraps come into play. Could someone explain to me this pattern, PLEASE!!???

Blocking Question

Img_0315Can you guys comment on blocking Mohair?  My stitches are not the usual nice even stitches I'm used to.  Since Mohair is so "sticky" will blocking make a difference in this aspect? Your opinions are appreciated!

Img_0314 I'm using GGH Soft Kidd on US15.  I got gauge in stitches but way off on row count.  This has led to a fair bit of ripping back, but it's all good.

Hi just an update on my wrap progress with pictures. I am knitting my wrap in Rowan kidsilk and so far I've only used 2 and a bit balls with plently left. I have completed one side and have done 5 repeats of the lace pattern on the other with 7 left to go. I should easily finish it without using the 4th ball I bought just to be on the safe side, I guess I can make a nice scarf or something with the left overs. Its knitted up very quickly, I cant wait until its finished so I can wear it.Picture_003

Airy Lace swatch part 2

Dsc01866So I'm still stuck in swatch hell....I knit up another swatch on 13s.  On that I'm getting about 11 stitches per 4 inches.

Dsc01869 Here is it next to my first swatch. first one is on the left (on 11s) and the right is the one on 13s.There are a 2 less stitches on the one done on 13s BTW.

So what do you all think?  The 13s?  I know it's not quite on but 15s might be too Airy! I was going to make the 37, but maybe the 40 since guage is off? I'm so bad at figuring this stuff out! Or go with the 37 because it's so stretchy?

Airy Lace Wrap

OK so I swatched up some of my Patons Lacette...The color is great!

Dsc01861_2

I'm getting 12 stitches per 4" instead of the 10 recommended.  My row gauge is close. So I'm thinking Ok try a 13? What do you all think? Or with the airyness of it should I not worry about it and go with the 11s?    HELP!!!  I'm never good with figuring out what to try with gauge! What do you all think?!?

Thanks, Michelle
