Hi Everyone!
I am so excited to have finally finished the Cozy V-Neck Pullover with Deep Ribbing.
Things moved pretty quickly with this sweater in the beginning. I started it at the end of April and had finished the body, one sleeve and 4/5 of the other sleeve before the weather got too hot in May to have an extremely warm and fuzzy sweater sitting on your lap. I picked it up again this Friday and finished the rest of it (second sleeve and picking up neckline) Friday evening.
I used the recommended Cascade Pastaza in a medium grey color for this sweater and knit the medium size. I also purchased enough of the dark red Pastaza during the sale at WEBS to knit another of these as the style is one which I will wear often. The yarn is a bit fuzzy but I am hoping that will lessen after a few washed.
Overall, this is a nice mindless knitting project. Although the ribbing does get a little tedious after a while, it moves along quickly enough to not drive one to insanity.
My husband wanted to get a shot of both my daughter and I in our new sweaters which I thought I would share here. What you can't see is one of my sons freaking out behind the camera which explains dd's facial expression. Hers is Fitted Knits related...I used my leftover yarn from the split neck tee. I love how the cozy v neck turned out and I'm sure I'll be wearing it all fall and winter. The yarn is Elsebeth Lavold Chunky AL which I got from the Webs sale last month...wish I would have ordered more! The gau
ge was a little off but I'm getting better at sizing as I go so I just went with it. Working the sleeves brought back memories of my lactation consultant telling me I had the longest arms she had ever seen (blush) and I did have to knit them about 4 inches longer than the pattern called for. How nice to have a sweater that fits my bod though~!:D
Here is my progress so far with Cozy V-Neck Pullover with Deep Ribbing. I am knitting it with Patons SWS in Natural Denim which I LOVE...it's so stretchy and easy to knit with...I am about to start the ribbing on the body. So far I am really happy with the pattern and how the sweater is coming out. Will keep everyone posted!
This one was actually surprisingly fast and easy (GOD how I love top down knitting!). I don't have a pic, since I gave it away and forgot to take one, but it turned out really nice. I'll be making at least 2 more for myself in handpainted silk/mohair yarn...hee!
Well, there it is : my first FO from the book. I had some misgivings about this while knitting it but I really like it on me. I used the recommended yarn (Cascade Pastazza) in colorway 007 : dark charcoal gray. I am really hoping it will soften with washing because I find it quite itchy. I removed the ribbing from the forearms because it made them look humongous. I might do other mods some other time. I found one small error in the pattern : when knitting size 40 inches, it tells you to decrease 2 st in the sleeves. I believe that is incorrect and you should not decrease to keep the k2p2 ribbing correct. More comments on my blog.
I love, love, love this sweater. Not enough to wear it at 90 degrees today in Virginia, but enough to show it off. I used the recommended Cascade Pastaza, in a slightly different comforting brown shade. This yarn gets softer after washing. I shortened the body to fit my abbreviated torso, but the ribbing is very flattering. The lack of finishing required makes it very neat and smooth to wear.
I've been a knitting machine recently, working obsessively on two sweaters from Fitted Knits and three smaller projects, too.
<<<My most recent photo of the Puff-Sleeved Cardigan, though I'm already into the waist shaping.
I've gotten through the entire body of the Cozy V-Neck Pullover, too, which is a really quick moving sweater, instantly gratifying. Somehow, though, no matter what I do, I can't get my recent photo of it to rotate properly in typepad! (Any hints?) Oh well--it's up on flickr for anyone interested.
Crazy me--I'm planning to start another Fitted Knits project as soon as tomorrow, a Drop-Stitch tank for my sister. I'm thinking of getting Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece for it, is that a good substitute? Also, my sister is a very small lady, and I'm wondering about sizing--should I be sizing down a lot? Seems like people have been finding it quite stretchy and loose. Any advice?
Thank you--as usual, it's great to see everyone's work!
