Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've been working on a Fitted Knit. I am currently knitting the puffed sleeve feminine cardigan using Knitpicks Merino Style in Maple Leaf. The Maple Leaf is such a cheery, bright red that it is a perfect antidote to the winter blahs. I have finished the collar and am at the point of doing the puffed sleeve increases. I am looking forward to knitting along with you all again. I have learned so much looking at everyone's FOs.

Three Fitted Knits Projects

Well, here are my first three KAL projects.  They look better on me than on the hanger, but I had no one to take my picture at the time.  I also have completed the airy wraparound, but no picture yet, and have just purchased yarn for the chevron coat, back to school vest, leaf tie sweater, carie sweater, and elizabeth sweater!  I just joined Ravelry too!  I just love knitting and you all have been so inspiring ! 

Finished Cozy V

I finished my Cozy V. I love it. First, because it actually fits. (No widows hump or hunchback as originally started.) Second, I love the color. It's funny, but I hardly have any green clothes. At the rate we're going this year, I should still be able to wear it on St. Pat's.

"la Place Rouge" coat

i studdied stéfanie's method and started this coat with some, again, french wool blend and alpaca. as my aim was to use up yarn from my stash, i adapted as i went along. i was running out of off "naturel" so i knit a pattern using "hibiscus" in colorwork. this time i was afraid i'd not have enough hibiscus for the lower border but i did. i am glad because now it is all "together" with the borders all in hibiscus (the red exotic fower in tahiti).

i noticed that when i have some variety in the stitch and colors the knit tends up to go very very fast, i was amazed!!! it went even quicker than a sweater but chris was reading the chart that i had written as i was knitting so i had to keep up with his rythm, maybe that helps?! for a closer look at the colorwork check my blog HERE

all in all the coat is not heavy at all and don't you think it has a very russian look to it?!

My boatneck bluebell finally finished! :)

After an almost 2 month hiatus due to Christmas knitting and other projects, I finished my Boatneck Bluebell this weekend! I am really happy with how it turned out! I changed to hem of the sweater at the hips to a k2p2 rib as Holly did, rather than use the purl rows, because I think it gives a nice finish to the sweater with less bulk. I also knit two sets of the purl stripes before and after each set of ribbing on the body and sleeves rather than three. I really like the Cascade Heathers, especially in this color. I am very pleased with this sweater! My next Fitted Knits will be the Alexandra Ballerina sweater, knit in Rowan soft tweed. I am looking forward to starting it! :)

Final pictures of Elizabeth

I finished the Elizabeth Bennet cabled cardigan a couple of weeks ago but now that she's washed and dried I thought I'd post a final, finished object shot.  I always like to see how a sweater really looks on a person, not just on a hanger.

Finally, the Puffy is Finished

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I first posted about this project way back in August.  Since then, I got married, moved into a new apartment, and completely forgot about this cardigan.  It resurfaced again in January, and not wanting to have it on the needles for more than 6 months, I finally finished it.

As evidenced from my first post, I've had a few challenges with this project.  After two rounds of major frogging and lots of modifications from the waist on down, the result is a cardigan that fits my body beautifully.  The full modifications are outlined here.

All of the effort was worth it though, as I am extremely happy with the final cardigan and how it fits.  Once it gets a little warmer, I expect to get a lot of wear out of this!

Another Fitted Knit!

After a long hiatus and lots of FOs from this book, I'm back into it.

Here's my latest Fitted Knit, the Back to School Vest. I really love it!!

Size: 34 Yarn: Cascade 220 "The Heathers" in color 2438 (about 2 1/4 skeins)

Needles: Sizes 6 and 5 Clover Bamboo circulars

Modifications: shortened the body ribbing by an inch

Future projects planned are the Split Neckline Cap Sleeve Tee, Dropped Stitch Lace Tank, Boatneck Bluebell and I've just gotten a request to make another Perfect Periwinkle Turtleneck Tube Vest in black for one of my friends. At that point, I think I will have made about 75% of the projects in the book!

Almost Done on Cozy V

So far, so good. I have about two inches left on the body and have completed one sleeve. No more hunchback or mutated arms. :) I think my success is due to my buddha stitch marker that I use for good luck.
