Puff-Sleeved Feminine Cardigan

Hello Everyone~ I've been checking out this KAL for a while and everyone's progress has been a great motivator! I absolutely love the patterns in this book and I've had great luck with the top-down raglan construction. I made this cardi with Southwest Trading Company's Soysilk in Rose. I got confused by the peplum chart and substituted with a lace pattern I got out of Vogue Knitting Stitchionary. I love how this turned out but it was aloImg_0127_2t of work!Img_0128_2

started and going fast

Dsc_0026 I just started this on friday ( yesterday ) and it's going really quickly. I am using cotton ease on size 6's and I'm happy with the feel so far.  I'm planning to make it a long sleeve cardigan I hope that goes well. Has anyone done that yet?

finished puff-sleeved caridgan!

It's all done! I finished awhile ago, but went out of town for awhile before blocking it and getting buttons. I made a lot of mods to it, specifically the length of it and the waist and hip shaping, but followed the spirit of the pattern. I wrote up a detailed list of them here.

I also cast on for the spicy fitted v-neck tee today. Hopefully I'll make some progress on that this weekend!

time to cast on

I have been trying to decide which cardigan I want to make from fitted knits and I have finally decided to make the puff sleeve cardigan next. I'm going to try and use lion brand cotton ease because I have some in my stash. I also want to lengthen the sleeves.  Has anyone else tried this yarn for this pattern? I'll do a swatch this week to make sure but I'm thinking I'll need to go up a needle size to 7's and 5's.

I had planned to make the back to school vest next, but I really need a cardigan in this weather. It's been really foggy and dreary.

Progress.

Dsc02709I've been a knitting machine recently, working obsessively on two sweaters from Fitted Knits and three smaller projects, too.

<<<My most recent photo of the Puff-Sleeved Cardigan, though I'm already into the waist shaping.

I've gotten through the entire body of the Cozy V-Neck Pullover, too, which is a really quick moving sweater, instantly gratifying. Somehow, though, no matter what I do, I can't get my recent photo of it to rotate properly in typepad! (Any hints?) Oh well--it's up on flickr for anyone interested.

Crazy me--I'm planning to start another Fitted Knits project as soon as tomorrow, a Drop-Stitch tank for my sister. I'm thinking of getting Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece for it, is that a good substitute? Also, my sister is a very small lady, and I'm wondering about sizing--should I be sizing down a lot? Seems like people have been finding it quite stretchy and loose. Any advice?

Thank you--as usual, it's great to see everyone's work!

U-Neck Vest completed!

I knit it up in just six days with Cascade 220 in a heathered teal color. I have a few photos of it on my flickr account, but for some reason I just can't get the photo to rotate properly in typepad. I also wrote it up a little on my blog. I couldn't even contain my excitement for my next project (the Puff-Sleeved Feminine Cardigan) long enough to weave in the ends on the Back to School Vest. I'm sure I'll get around to it sooner or later...

In the meantime, here's a progress shot of my cardi in some absolutely luscious Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light. I've actually gotten further since this picture was taken. I'm now about an hour's work from finishing the yoke!

Half-finished puff-sleeved cardign

Dscn1776

Hi everyone! I just joined the KAL. I'm working on the puff-sleeved cardigan, and I just finished the waist decreases. I'm going to start the peplum today, but I don't think I want it to flare out as much as it does on some of the finished ones i've seen, so I think I'll cut out a few of the repeats of the lace.

I'm using O-Wool balance, which knits up at the recommended row gauge, but a slightly different stitch gauge. I tinkered with the math a bit and so far this hasn't been much of a problem.

Rasperry Puff-Sleeved Feminine Cardigan

I startet the PSFC with Handpaintedyarns from Uruguay. It´s Lace Wool, I forgot the name of the Colour, but I always thing about Rasperries while knitting.

It was an experiment with this Lace wool. I once knitted a "Birch from down", a big lace shawl, with this yarn and while knitting I always thought: OMG, it will tear apart someday! But after washing it fluffed up and became much more stronger. It is a yarn like a feather but warm like the cuddliest blanket. I always was thinking to knit once a pull ore lace blouse of it.

And yesterday eve I startet the experiment. It worked. I love it!

I use N3(US4 I think) and took the 38" bust. I am afraid of the coming THREEHUNDRETNINETY stitches *arg*

Nice sunday, Eva

Finished: Drop-Stitch Tank and Puff Sleeve

So a chair isn't probably the best model for a fitted knit, but hey, they're finished. I actually finished them about a month ago, but I haven't gotten around to taking pictures until now. I'll take pictures of them on me...eventually.

I realized that I can't button things correctly, so please ignore the weird buttoning skills on the tank. It was early.

I"m working on projects from a different book now, but I think the Back to School Vest is next on my list from this one.

C'est finit!

IMG_4050.JPGI finished my Puff Sleeve Feminine Cardigan yesterday, and I love it! I had some gauge issues due to the yarn I chose (Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed), so I had to fiddle with the pattern more than I'm used to. I'm glad I put in the effort though, because I love this sweet sweater in a rustic tweed. As a bonus, I used fewer than five balls of yarn for this sweater! Using US5 needles, I got 5 stitches per inch, and decided to make a 35" size. I made a few other modifications. I added some length to the raglan "seams," added some more length too the waist, and took some length away from the sleeves. I also made the lace pattern repeat all the way around the peplum. I already have the yarn for my next project from this book (U neck vest), but I won't be casting it on right away.
