Shaped Lace Tee or Surplice Bodice Camisole First?
Hi everyone - I am soooo excited about starting tomorrow!! I have yarn for two patterns, and am not sure which I want to start first. I have wayyy more than this that I want to do eventually, but I'll start here as I do have yarn for these two. It took everything in me not to go on over to WEBS and buy yarn for about five more designs, but I'm trying to control myself, especially as I'm doing the dual KAL over at the Sexy Knitters Club and am still doing a bunch more designs from Fitted Knits. Anyway, I asked this on my blog too, but I want to hear what you all think:
Lace Shaped Tee (a/k/a Krista) in Cascade Pima Tencel
or Surplice Bodice Camisole in Elann Callista?
ETA: All of the categories are now in!!
As there haven't really been that many posts so far, I can classify the ones made to date. But if you get there first, feel free to categorize your own posts - and definitely do this going forward, once I have everything set up in the Category dropdown list. This will make it so much easier for people to find helpful info about the pattern(s) they've chosen to knit. Note too that you can assign multiple categories to a post like I just did on this one.
Getting excited, and can't wait to hear which design you think I should knit first!!!

I really like the Surplice one, and that's the one that I want to make, but I am wondering how you were planning on using the Callista for it? Since the Callista is 130 yards and the original yarn is 80? Are you just going to go up in needle size till you get gauge?

The Callista is a little lighter weight - right - they recommend 22 stitches to 4 inches whereas the pattern is 18 stitches to 4 inches. I got the 18 stitch to 4 inch gauge on size 6 addi turbos, but the fabric is very drapey and a little see-through. However, I was planning to wear a cami underneath it anyway, so I don't think I'll try a smaller needle to make the fabric thicker (and then knit a larger size to compensate.)

Ahhh I see, good plan, I've done that before.
