9/30 Prize Drawing

Hi everyone,

We are approaching September 30 soon, and I plan to have a prize drawing to give away the funds we have collected through the Tip Jar. Check other Admin posts for history if you're new to the group, as I think we discussed this a few months ago - but you will get one prize drawing entry for each FO completed between July 1 and September 30.

However, I need your help with something. Typepad recently discontinued their "Earnings" feature which would provide detail of Tip Jar donations and affiliate (ad) earnings, and deposited the balance of $38.33 to my PayPal account last month upon discontinuance. What I didn't realize until now is that they wiped out the history of donations when they did this, so I don't know which donations were made to this KAL vs. the Fitted Knits KAL. If you donated funds to this KAL, could you let me know how much either by email (rm090195 at gmail dot com) or comment to this post? Also, if anyone would like to donate, you can still use the Tip Jar but please be sure to indicate which KAL you're donating to.

Thanks! Once I have this information I can determine how much of the $38.33 belongs to each KAL. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I didn't realize that Typepad was going to wipe out the history.

Complete!

Knit_sweater_completed_3  I actually finished this sweater a couple of weeks ago but haven't had the time to post until now. I'm really pleased with how it came out. Since I used 100% wool the sweater is quite warm but fall is kicking in here so I've gotten some wear time in. Firstly, as others have commented, the instructions for the sweater give an armhole measurement which is far too short. I made the 34" bust size which suggests a measurement of 6 - 1/2" but I knit to a length of 8". Maybe I just have a long bust to shoulder measurment? Otherwise I followed the pattern as usual. I bought a cute little lacy camisole at Penny's to wear under it as the neckline was a bit low for me. I honestly have to say this is one of the cuter and more wearable sweater's I've made. No one believes I made it myself. (Or maybe they just doubt my abilities?)

Finally Got a Picture

I finished the shaped lace tee a couple of weeks ago, and finally got a picture of it at my dad's surprise birthday party.  Here's the picture. Dscf0607_2

I really enjoyed working on this sweater and the pattern was easy to follow.  I would definitely make another one.  I love how sexy it is.  It's revealing but not revealing at the same time.  I wore it to work last week, and one of the girls at work came up to me and said "at first I thought you weren't wearing a bra, but I know you and you wouldn't do that".  I just smiled and winked at her then walked away with my top and fleshed colored bra in all it's glory. lol!!!!

New Member of KAL

Shapedlaceteebackprogress

I am happy to be part of this KAL! I have been working on the Shaped Lace Tee. Although I’ve had the book and been admiring it for awhile now, this is my first project from it. Here is a progress picture showing the back done to about 1.5 inches below the armhole shaping.  I'm using the Cascade sierra yarn in ivory as shown in the book.

It is so fun to see all the items everyone has made! I like so many of the patterns in the book, but the next ones I hope to try are the Racerback Tank and Lacy Summer Socks.

This is a cross between the Party Dress bodice and the Racerback Tank with Mesh Sides (although no mesh in mine). Knitted in Cascade Fixation.

Pretty Purple Socks...

Im000977 I finished these socks about a month ago, but did not have an opportunity to create a post.  My pictures are a bit light.  The color is actually a beautiful Plum color.  I used the K1C2  Ambrosia yarn as suggested in the pattern.  This is an absolutely wonderful yarn to work with.  The end product is very soft and stretchy.  I know I will be reaching for these socks frequently, especially when the weather turns cooler.  I am not an avid sock knitter, but this pattern has to be one of the best sock pattern's that I have ever knitted.  It is very well written and has increased my interest in socks knitted toe up.  I highly recommended this pattern for those who are new to sock knitting and would like something more interesting than an simple stockinette stitch.  I will certainly knit these a few more times...On to my next project!  Bed Jacket or Trumpet Skirt?
