Pretty Purple Socks...

Im000977 I finished these socks about a month ago, but did not have an opportunity to create a post.  My pictures are a bit light.  The color is actually a beautiful Plum color.  I used the K1C2  Ambrosia yarn as suggested in the pattern.  This is an absolutely wonderful yarn to work with.  The end product is very soft and stretchy.  I know I will be reaching for these socks frequently, especially when the weather turns cooler.  I am not an avid sock knitter, but this pattern has to be one of the best sock pattern's that I have ever knitted.  It is very well written and has increased my interest in socks knitted toe up.  I highly recommended this pattern for those who are new to sock knitting and would like something more interesting than an simple stockinette stitch.  I will certainly knit these a few more times...On to my next project!  Bed Jacket or Trumpet Skirt?

Lace Sock Progress

Knitprogress_015_2

Here is my progress on the lace sock. It's not perfect - a few errors in the lace due to me forgetting if which row I was on (even though it's only a 2-row pattern). Still, for the most part it's looking good. It's a really easy pattern and I'm enjoying the quick progress. I have about 3 more inches before completing the first sock in the pair.

I have also ordered yarn from Elann - my first time getting their yarn - for the Surplice Body Camisole. I'm excited about that too! I'm not one to seam, so I'm going to have to treat slowly once I get to that part.

Lacy Summer Socks (page 116/119)

I have just cast on for the toe-up stocking. (This will be my first toe-up sock). I have a question about the directions: I don't understand what it means for working the second half of the toe:

"Pick up and knit 1 st from first half of toe, knit to end, pick up and knit 1 st from first half of toe."

Can anyone explain?
