Waist-Cincher Top

Complete!

Knit_sweater_completed_3  I actually finished this sweater a couple of weeks ago but haven't had the time to post until now. I'm really pleased with how it came out. Since I used 100% wool the sweater is quite warm but fall is kicking in here so I've gotten some wear time in. Firstly, as others have commented, the instructions for the sweater give an armhole measurement which is far too short. I made the 34" bust size which suggests a measurement of 6 - 1/2" but I knit to a length of 8". Maybe I just have a long bust to shoulder measurment? Otherwise I followed the pattern as usual. I bought a cute little lacy camisole at Penny's to wear under it as the neckline was a bit low for me. I honestly have to say this is one of the cuter and more wearable sweater's I've made. No one believes I made it myself. (Or maybe they just doubt my abilities?)

moving along

I decided to try the Waist Cincher Top next. I'm using 'Freedom Spirit' 100% wool, so its woolier than the one in the book, but I think it will make a nice cute wintery sweater. The lace should open a bit when I steam it though. The accent is the second cream ball I had leftover from the silk slip. (waste not want not. . . )Knit_sweater

Waist Cincher Top- Day 1

I cast on for the Waist Cincher Top today, and have been enjoying it so far. I'm just using some dark brown stash yarn that I had kicking around. A read though of the pattern suggests that it's going to be a great basic top with the lacy details as a bit of oomph. I already know I don't want to do the yarn over for the faux bust darts, so I think I'll eliminate them entirely (after all, it's a ssk and a yo, which means the stich count isn't changing). So far, this is back panel and where I'm at:
