It seems as if it has taken me a long time to get ready for DH's sweater. I had to order the yarn, then order new needles, and get up and running with charting software. I decided to try KnitVisualizer because I've gotten used to knitting from charts and the original pattern was too confusing to work with in its written-out form. I think this chart (click to enlarge) isn't quite right:
The plaited cable looks wrong and I neglected the repeats for the reverse straight stitch between motifs, but it is good enough to use for a swatch. I'll correct it when I'm done with that. I've left a generous area on the left for the double moss stitch, and a reasonable amount of ribbing on the right, to help me decide on the width of the button band. But this is a complete pattern for one of the cardigan fronts, and it will give me enough to use for a reasonably accurate measurement.
So now I'm finally able to swatch!
