Yelp ~ I got my very own copy for christmas so I'm back.  I haven't decided what to make but the new year promises to be a year of knitting for me.  I'll post once I have selected my pattern and yarn.  I love the FOs so far and can't wait to get started.

Attention Potential KAL Leaders!!

Hi everyone,

Due to lots of other things going on right now, I would like to pass the ownership of this KAL over to someone else. I would move it to Blogger and add someone as co-administrator to it as I think that would be the only option, but the person who took it over would have total control of it. If there's a way it could be transferred to another Blogger ID, we could do that too. I just know I'm not giving it the attention it deserves so was wondering if anyone wants to take over.

Notorious Finished!

GGH Safari in light green; 4 balls
Needles: Circular sizes 4, 5 and 6

Although I finished this back in September, I didn't get around to getting pictures take until now.  This was a challenging knit for me. 

Although I intentionally changed a few things to suit my chosen yarn, I also ran into a few problems with the pattern as written. There was some confusion on my part as to where to start the armhole shaping and how long to make the front. I also had some problems with the sleeves.

I love the original pattern so much; it's a little disappointing to not have my finished knit have some of the elements that I love the most [like the sweet fluttery sleeves].  I'm happy that it's done, regardless.  I'm hoping that I'll get some wear out of it once the temperatures warm up...in about 5 months.  ha ha! 

What the...?

Holiday is going to be my first lace project (I tried "fit n flare trumpet skirt" in Knitting Lingerie Style, but that's only eyelets, doesn't really count as lace), but I'm already getting weird bumps directly above each cluster of eyelets, where the decreases are. I know that decreasing further will eliminate them, but it'll also interfere with the number of stitches in the area, and stop me from adding the next cluster of eyelets as I work vertically. Do these go away when I steam-block? How do I get rid of them? Also, is this because I'm using two strands of Misti Alpaca worsted yarn, rather than ribbon?

Easy enough knit once I figured out the boo-boos in the pattern. Errata all over, most that aren't up on AM's site yet (I don't think anyone test knit this). And it fits perfectly! Now I can't wait for Vegas to flounce around :-)

I just cast on, and already I have a question. I've emailed Annie - cross your fingers for me.

But if someone wouldn't mind taking a look at the pattern... It appears to be knit in the round, at least at the start, but the ribbing for Round 1 begins AND ends with K2, which would put two K2s next to each other. Am I missing something?

ETA - got the response, knit flat not in the round!  Also, different # of cast on stitches.

 

Dark Victory started!

Hello!  I am making the Dark Victory sweater, I finally got it started this weekend. Will post a picture soon.  Have not decided what else I might make yet.  Happy Knitting!!

I'm so excited!  I got my copy today and can't wait to shop!  I think I'll probably start with An Affair to Remember as I am completely in love with it.  Yay!

silk stocking

i'm thinking about making the silk stockings but I think a wool blend would be a better choice so that they retain the shape better. What do you guys think? I still want them to be soft though.

Any yarn recomendations for me. Looks like it takes a sport weight gauge is  6 sts on size 5's.
