I LOVE that color of Rowan Cork. And you what? I don't think that Waterlily looks so bad... maybe with the right pair of pants? I think it's kind of cute...

Stacey_CrimsonPurl

The tube top is cute! I am liking the color also!

So sorry about the Waterlily :o( Well at least this lets me know you are not perfect like I thought! Aaah the pain!! You have cracked my image! LOL

Seriously, your knitted garments always look nice! Keep on knitting!

Michelle

The Tube top is soo cute..reminds me that I need to finish mine! I have the body done but am making straps. I started them last summer (!) and don't like them and need to rip and redo them!

Waterlily isn't as bad as you think....give it a few days and try it again and see what you think!

tiennie

Cute tube top! The other one - I'd have to agree that it's not so flattering on you.

Adrienne

Love the tube top! I've really been thinking about signing up this time..........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm lol

toya

cute tube,, lol
love the color

Suz

The tube top turned out cute. The waterlily, hmmm...the design looks cute and there's nothing wrong with the knitting. I think what's not doing it for me is the yarn color? The look on your face, is priceless. LOL!

Jenny

Ah, yes, I know that look too well. I save that one just for my husband.

marjorie

I think you're right about Waterlily. I have a UFO somewhat like that (it has been on hold for decades). It is a hand-dyed silk yarn, and I never figured out what to do with it. My original plan was a garter stitch T. I was thinking I'd try something modular on a needle size that would keep it from stretching as much as possible. Or if all else failed, it would be a scarf. Your yarn is pretty, though, and you shouldn't abandon it completely. Perhaps mixing it with a solid in one of the darker blue colors might be worth considering. It seems a little too orange.

Sarah

Woo hoo! That's going to be a winner soon.
The tube top is cute though. For a corset-y look, try it over an unbuttoned dress shirt.

sandra

Waterlilly top is opn my list too! Great and fust knitting, as always!

turtlegirl76

Hee! I love that face in the fugly FO pic. Hee!

Lara

I love the Tube Top! Very cute! The pic in the waterlilly top is so funny. Your expression is priceless!

Debby

Love the Psychadelic (sp?) Furs!

At least you have the tube top that you love, to balance out the Waterlily that you don't feel the love for. Right now I am frustrated with all my projects and am kind of stumped as to what to do. What do you have on the needles now? Did you see the new Knitscene? I just bought it tonight. I do like the beaded scarf.

Maryanne

Love the tube top! I've been checking that one out too.... Sorry about the Waterlily top :( You'll just have to reincarnate the yarn for some better knitting karma next time!

Dee

So that's your "don't mess with Robin" look? I hope Jim has ways to counteract it's effects.

Heather

Love the Tube action! I agree that it is cute with a cami underneath. I am a huge Rowan Cork enthusiast and am still bewildered that it was discontinued.

And, could you BE any tanner right now? Sheesh!! (Looks great, I'm a pale faced jealous one...)

Bobbi

LOL you do not look happy about the Waterlily Top. So what do you do with ones you don't like? Frog? The Tube Top looks great congrats on another great looking FO!

Elinor

Hey, that looks great!!!! You look *so* happy in that second pic, let me tell you! Heh!

I'm on the fence about sp11. I've had great experiences on the even-numbered swaps so I don't know what that means but I'm considering skipping this next one and joining up for 12. That's irrational, isnt' it. :-)

kaetlyn

toporini looks so cute! watercolors is not horrible...the colors are pretty anyway...

Gledwood

Hi Robin
I jumped in entirely at random via next blog and friends of your friends' comments etc...
an honest opinion: the brown "top" as you call it i originally thought was a full-length figure-hugging dress ... have you not thought of doing that?
I think that would look funkycoolgreat
and I am a man so you can trust my opinion

The Tube Top is just too CUTE! Can I have it??? LOL! I understand how you feel about the Waterlily Top. Sorry you weren't pleased with the outcome. I have Rowan Cork in my stash. Hmmm....

Barb

the Tube Top looks great and Waterlily is'nt too bad, maybe a little bright? would it look better in a solid?

FantasyKnits

I like the tube top! Waterlily looks good for the beach, just right for summer!

Carol

Great! I love the way the cables and ribs are set up! OK, maybe I'm weird, but I like the Waterlily Top, maybe it's 100% different in real life, but from here it looks great!

Diane

I just browsed your finished objects..and found the 3/3 sleeve red shrug????? I'm looking for something similar to take to Vegas in Sept for a light weight cover up..would you be so kind to let me know what pattern that was...
(I found your blog from a link at Tiennie Knits)

Blogless Diane

Monica

I love the tube top. Thanks for participating in the knitting disaster contest.

Kate

The tube top is awesome, and it hits your bust in *just* the right spot. Fabulous!!

Um, well, the waterlilly top....hey, that tube top is fantastic!!

Kozy Kitty

Hey--I love the tube top! Waterlily is on my "to do" list and I have the yarn. The photo on the pattern looks much more form fitting which is what attracted me to it in the first place. Is this one that you can try on as you go? I know it is done on circulars from the bottom up. I can't wait to see your surplice wrap cami. I love that pattern and I'm trying to resist the urge to go buy yarn for that one. I don't need to add another project to my already too long list of stuff to make over the summer (which is already half over!)

About Me

  • I love to knit and sew, although not as obsessively as I used to. Now I'm more focused on quality over quantity as I have less free time to work on crafting now that I have started a new, more demanding (but rewarding) job. I'm RobinM on Ravelry and RobinMCPA on Twitter if you want to stop by and say hi!
