FO #3 of 2008: Cabled Cardigan #24 (VK Winter 2007/8)
FO #3: Cabled Cardigan #24 from Vogue Knitting Winter 2007/8
Size: Medium
Yarn: Rowan Big Wool in 043 Forest, just under 10 skeins
Needles: size 11 Addi turbos
Modifications: Shortened back and both fronts by 4" to measure 22" from the armhole, shortened sleeves to measure about 17.5" from the armhole and adjusted rate of increases accordingly. Despite shortening the coat by this significant margin, it still grew a good 4-6 inches in the body and a couple inches on the sleeves. I like it this way (it goes down to just above my knees now instead of mid-thigh, which may be a better length anyway) but just know that it will grow substantially when determining length. It would have been down to my ankles if I knit it in accordance with the original pattern directions!!
I am super happy with this, especially in today's almost zero degree temps and snow!

You did a FAB job!!! I STILL haven't done cables! UGH!!! Great job. You look very warm! LOL

It looks so nice & cozy! Great job! It fits perfectly! How much snow are you getting? We're getting rain, so everything is gray and depressing.

ooh, lovely. Would be perfect for me to put on and get warm right now. When this issue of Vogue finally surfaces in the UK I shall definately make it, may be with a cable belt, I think.

That looks very nice, and the color is a good one for you. I bet you can't wait for the days when you can wear it out doors by itself.
I always have trouble with length on heavy wool too. It always stretches after blocking so that it is far longer than the pattern specs.

Wow! That one is really pretty! I bet it is keeping you warm and cozy! I really like the length too, it's just long enough but not too long either. LOL

Beeeutiful! I love it! I bet you couldn't get chilly in that if you tried. :)

Holy growing, Batman! That did lengthen alot. I like the long version though. I will have to try that yarn. And of course the pattern, because of the cables :)

Oh it looks so cozy and warm! *sigh* It's cold here too, but no snow. I just wish it would snow so I can justify the cold at this point.

Wow!!! Your knitting projects are awesome! I certainly have tried to knit over the years on my own. Several projects started, none completed. Always wanted to take a knitting class but knew no one to teach me. I probably would have pursued it more if I didn't know how to sew. You know, something crafty to keep the hands busy type of thing. And I was always terrible at counting the number of stitches and needing to go back and count them. Is there knitting ADD? I think I have that :) .
Robin, I bet you can talk and knit with no problem too! Amazing. I don't think I ever mastered the ability to be able to think, knit, and talk at the same time.
Your work is absolutely awesome!

Great job, looks great on you. This might be a good choice to take on your cruise, for those windy days.
