The sad day I knew would eventually come has arrived today. We had to say goodbye to our sweet kitty Gilda this afternoon. After almost eighteen happy and healthy years, her journey is now over. She took a turn for the worse quickly yesterday and today it was time to let her end her suffering. I'll never forget her and how much she added to our lives. I will always love our special kitty and no one can replace her.
There are so many pictures I have of her that I've collected during our time together, but here are just a few of the happier times:
My sweet love.
Sleep well, my darling.
Oh, Robin... I'm so sorry! My heart goes out to you... Gilda was lucky to have such a loving home for so many years!

So very sorry for your loss. I never know who was luckier - us for having all they give to us or them for having someone willing to give them a fabulous life and an easy passing - regardless of how hard it is for us. I think we do.
Hope you are finding peace with your memories. g

Robin--I'm so sorry for your loss. Our pets are really family members and it hurts when we lose them. You were so fortunate to have Gilda for 18 years and she was so lucky to have you!. I've lost 2 in the past two years and still miss them.

Yoda and I are sorry you lost such a good friend. Take care in knowing that she's not suffering at all and had a great life with you and Jim.

I'm so sad for you. But 18 is a very long (and no doubt happy) life for a cat. Try to comfort yourself by knowing you gave her a great home.

Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
